Walk & Bike to School Day – October 4

Organized by the Partnership for a Walkable America, Walk to School Day is an international event that began in 1997 as a one-day event aimed at building awareness for the need for walkable communities.  International Walk to School Day galvanizes visibility for walking and bicycling to school. Over time, this event has been part of a movement for year-round safe routes to school and today, thousands of schools across America and in more than 40 countries worldwide celebrate walking and biking to school every October.

Northwood Elementary will proudly participate in the international event on October 4. Students are encouraged to walk or bike to school with their families, and enjoy a post walk/bike celebration over coffee and light breakfast bites before the first bell rings.

When is the event?: The Fall Walk and Bike to School Event is on Wed, Oct.4.. .

Where is the event held?:  The Outdoor Commons Area

Who can attend?: The event is open to all Northwood Elementary students and family members.
